About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior AI Backend Engineer to help build the backend services and infrastructure that power Calibrax’s AI solutions. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and ML practitioners to develop APIs, services, and tools that support real-world AI workflows. This is a strong learning role where you’ll get exposure to distributed systems, production-grade ML integration, and modern cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building backend services and APIs that support AI workflows, agentic systems, and data pipelines.
  • Implement features within existing services and participate in designing new components.
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure systems are reliable, well-tested, and well-documented.
  • Help integrate machine learning models into production with clean interfaces and monitoring.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Learn modern tools and technologies across backend engineering and MLOps.

Requirements

  • 0–2+ years of backend or software engineering experience (internships or projects welcome).
  • Solid grounding in Python, Go, Node.js, or Rust with interest in distributed systems and backend architecture.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Docker, or cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of agentic systems, autonomous workflows, or multi-agent architectures is highly desirable.
  • Strong eagerness to learn, ask questions, and improve through mentorship.
  • Clear communication, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset.
